Rachel and I go way back, all the way to January 24, 2008 when she first emailed us about coordinating her wedding. And after 1 year, 3 months and 1 day of phone calls, emails, meetings, and trips to Santa Ynez and Rachel and Jim are married!
Rachel had a vision for their wedding from the start, all we had to do was find the perfect location and everything else would fall into place. After a long day of visiting wineries (and of course a little wine tasting), we found the perfect location! The wedding would take place at
Koehler Winery in Los Olivos.
It just so happened that Jim's last name also begins with a K, so it was only natural to use the K as a symbol throughout the wedding. The K showed up on the invitation, welcome tote bags, and champagne flutes. Here's are a few snapshots of the invitations designed by La Bonne Vie.
The food and beverage were an important part of the day for Rachel and Jim. So we brought in
Leonardo Curti, chef of the fantastic
Trattoria Grappolo in Santa Ynez. Leo worked with Rachel and Jim to create a menu to incorporate all of their favorite foods, including mini pizzas during the cocktail hour for Jim! We also worked with
Absolute Events to bring in Guiness by the keg, another very important part of the day for Jim!
And now we're getting to my favorite part of the day - the cake! This gorgeous cake was designed by
Decadence Wedding Cakes and yes, it was just as delicious as it looks!
I'll leave you with a photo of the happy couple in the vineyards under a gorgeous California oak tree. Congratulations Rachel & Jim!
