Anne & Mike ~ Saddlerock Ranch

After what seems like the busiest September and October on record, we have lots of beautiful weddings to share with you over the next few months. Here is the first of many!
We started with an amazingly gorgeous California day, an over the moon in love couple and some amazing family and friends to celebrate Anne & Mike's wedding at Chateau Le Dome at Saddlerock Ranch. We had the pleasure of working with an great photographer Susan Bordelon, and we are excited to share a few of our favorites.

Anne and Mike's love of wine, great food and family was incorporated throughout the day. Guests signed a magnum of wine from one of their favorite wineries. Anne made cookbooks as favors that included family favorite recipes, of course with a wine pairing suggestion.

Anne & Mike, we wish you a lifetime of the love and happiness you shared on your wedding day. It was a pleasure and a privilege to be part of your special day. Thank you for allowing us to share in your journey.

We want to thank the amazing vendors that helped make this day possible.

~ Frosting Friday ~

Since Kathy and I are both big fans of wine, I thought it was only appropriate to feature these fantastic wine bottle cakes from Confetti Cakes in today's Frosting Friday post. Cheers!

I just had to get in on Susan's October special feature of grooms cakes, with my Southern Texas roots and all... There a ton of reasons that I have chosen to feature Armadillo grooms cakes, one of them is my LOVE of the film Steel Magnolia's. Shelby's wedding in her colors of 'Blush and Bashful' will always make me chuckle, and who can forget the aunts blood red armadillo grooms cake that was being served out of the garage.

Here is an image of the original Blood Red Armadillo Grooms cake from the movie Steel Magnolias.

As Susan and I headed home from a recent wedding in Rancho Palos Verdes, in my exhausted daze I asked her if that had been an armadillo in the middle road. As we were still in So Cal, it was much more likely to be a raccoon or possum...surely not an armadillo. To say the least this was enough to make us laugh for the duration of the drive home. Just another reason to feature the armadillo design as a grooms cake.
Sharing a little love for the state animal of Texas. Hope that these images give you inspiration as you personalize the cakes for your own wedding.

Continuing with our special feature on Grooms cakes for the month of October, we were happily surprised to find this adorable owl cake on Southern Weddings. You see, Kathy and I are Chi Omegas and therefore we are huge owl fans! How cute is this little guy?
He looks delicious!
Even the wedding cake from this gorgeous wedding was adorned with cute little owls.
